College of Slavonski Brod (CSB) was established in 2006. Mission of CSB is to educate students for leadership by transferring knowledge and ethical values and by developing their practical skills which should enable them to induce positive changes in local community, as well as in wider region. Through its study programs, CSB provides education focused on practice. Students are taught how to accept and work with new technology and how to respond to market needs. CSB currently offers professional undergraduate study programs in Management, Production Engineering and Plant Production specializations in Horticulture and Farming.

There are ongoing preparations for organization of new study programs at both undergraduate and graduate level with international partners. CSB offers also various lifelong learning programs at its Centre of foreign languages, IT academy, Cisco Academy. CSB participates in IPA funded international projects. With partners from Hungary, CSB is a co-founder of the International Scientific and Expert Conference „Technics-Education-Agriculture-Management TEAM".

About the College of Slavonski Brod 

November 2005: The Brod-Posavina County and the City of Slavonski Brod started the initiative to establish the College of Slavonski Brod (abbreviation: CSB)

29th November 2005: Prof. Dr. Dr.h.c. Gordana Kralik, Rector of Josip Juraj Strossmayer University of Osijek reached decision on appointment of joint committee for establishment of the College of Slavonski Brod

19th December 2005: The Senate of Josip Juraj Strossmayer University of Osijek supported the initiative for establishment of UASSB by offering cooperation in preparation of the Study on Justification for establishment of the College of Slavonski Brod

6th and 10th April 2006: The initiative for establishment of CSB was carried out by The Brod-Posavina County and the City of Slavonski Brod

12th July 2006: National Council for Higher Education proposed issuing of license for CSB

28th September 2006: The College of Slavonski Brod was established by the Regulation of the Government of the Republic of Croatia (Official Journal 108/2006) 

16th October 2006: Acting Governing Council of CSB and acting dean, Prof. dr. sc. Antun Stoić, were appointed

20th November 2006: Acting Governing Council of CSB held its constituting session 

20th November 2006: Adoption of the Interim Statute of CSB

14th December 2006: Permission was issued by the Ministry of Science, Education and Sports for registration of CSB in the Register of higher education institutions

18th December 2006: Registration of the domain www.vusb.hr

22nd January 2007: Opening ceremony of the College of Slavonski Brod

22nd January 2007: Signing of Agreement on Cooperation between the College of Slavonski Brod and Josip Juraj Strossmayer University of Osijek

12th January 2007: The College of Slavonski Brod becomes a full member of the Croatian Academic and Research Network - CARNet

20th February 2007: Acting Expert Council of CSB held its constituting session

12th December 2009: The first graduation ceremony organized at the College of Slavonski Brod 

30th March 2010: The State Secretary issued a decision on approving the organization of lifelong learning programs referring to foreign languages ​​(English, German, French, Spanish and Italian)

27th July 2010: According to the opinion of the National Council for Higher Education, the Minister of science, education and sports issued a license to the College of Slavonski Brod for realization of study program in Plant Production, with its specializations programs of Horticulture and Farming

6th October 2010: The Major of Slavonski Brod issued the Conclusion on giving permission for closing of a contract between the City and the College of Slavonski Brod for usage of the premises located at the address Matije Gupca 24, upon which the contract on the use of premises was signed on 29th October 2010 for a period of 3 years

2nd November 2010: Launching of a first project funded by the IPA – Component IV

20th December 2010: CSB was awarded the Extended Erasmus University Charter by the European Commission

15th February 2011:  On its 3rd session, the Governing Council reached the decision to appoint Prof. Dr. Antun Stoić for the dean of the College of Slavonski Brod for a mandate in the period 2011-2015

16th March 2011: CSB obtained permanent license to carry out professional study program in Production Engineering

30th May 2011:  Ceremony was held for handing over the building in the Gubec street

23rd September 2011: the permanent license was issued for CSB to carry out professional study program in Management

28th September 2011: College of Slavonski Brod organized a ceremony to celebrate the 5th anniversary of its establishment

23rd – 24th November 2011: Commission for external audit of the quality assurance system of the Agency for Science and Higher Education visited CSB

26th -  27th April 2012: Commission for Reaccreditations visited College

17th August 2012 – ASHE provided a final report of the committee for reaccreditation of the College of Slavonski Brod

1st March 2013 – in accordance with the Act on quality assurance, article 22 item 3, upon ASHE’s proposal, the minister issued a confirmation to the College on fulfillment of conditions for higher education activity.

7th May 2013 – Ministry of Science, Education and Sports issued a license to the College of Slavonski Brod for realization of the professional graduate study program in Management.

3rd September 2013 – the Municipal Court of Slavonski Brod, the Land Registry Division issued a positive decision about registering the ownership rights on the land (19747 sq.m.) in the Andrija Hebrang borough in favor of the College of Slavonski Brod.

17th December 2013 – The College was officially issued the land ownership certificate proving the solely possession of the land in the Andrija Hebrang borough, which was a gift by the City of Slavonski Brod.

9th September 2014 - at the 23rd session of the Governing Council, Josip Jukić, M.Sc., has been appointed Dean of the College of Slavonski Brod for the mandate of 1st October 2014 to 30 September 2018.
