PROFESSIONAL GRADUATE STUDY PROGRAM IN MANAGEMENT
Professional undergraduate study program in Management lasts for 6 semesters. Prior to graduation, a student is obliged to gain 180 ECTS.
Upon completion of the professional study in Management, a student is awarded the qualification of
Professional Bachelor of Economics
Upon completion of the professional study, students can enroll graduate studies offered at the Faculty of Economics in Osijek if passing exams of the additional study year.
Objectives of the professional undergraduate study in Management:
to understand basics of market-oriented concept of enterprise management
to master management of all business processes in the national and international markets
to gain basic knowledge about other analytical and management tasks in business, government,trade, and logistics companies.
The learning outcomes for the professional undergraduate study program in Management are listed below. Graduates from this study program will be able to:
define and solve various problems in economics, finance, accounting, marketing, organization, quantitative methods, statistics and computer science [Basics]
apply the necessary knowledge about methods of economic analysis on business problems in order to make decisions for their solution in small and medium-sized enterprises [Application of knowledge and skills]
work individually and in a team to achieve business results and to solve complex problems related to management, by using skills in social relations, management techniques and professional skills [Teamwork]
apply basic knowledge about management of a company or professional work related to issues of general management, marketing, finances or accounting [Practical skills]
explain basic business principles and basic concepts related to entrepreneurship, finances, banking, marketing and key ethical issues in profession [Business skills]
announce information related to their work in the form of oral presentations or written reports by using modern information tools, and to understand texts related to profession written in a foreign language [Communication]
recognize the need for continuing education and lifelong learning in order to be able to apply modern management methods, techniques and skills necessary in managerial practice. [Lifelong learning]
The main principle of the professional study program in Management is to educate economists (bachelors) for working in the business sector, in light of opening Croatian economy to organization, marketing, accounting and trade.
The professional study program is realized in six semesters. In the first two semesters students acquire basic knowledge in economics and infrastructure, and in the third and fourth semester students acquire advanced knowledge in economics, as well as the most important professional knowledge. The fifth semester offers a possibility to elect courses (modules) according to student's preferences, with evaluation through organized professional practice. The sixth semester consists of continuing professional practice and individual work with supervisors, and the preparation of final paper (thesis).
In its structure and way of realization, the study program is comparable with similar ones offered the European Union member states. The professional study program is comparable to the akin studies offered by polytechnics in the Republic of Croatia (Zagreb, Split, Požega), as well as to some studies offered by the European technical universities (e.g. Wirtschafts-Akademie in Frankfurt (4 semesters) or the University of Münster (Germany), Berufsakademie Mannheim (6 semesters), and Berufsakademie Karlsruhe (6 semesters).
CSB disposes of appropriate premises and equipment to carry out the mentioned professional study program.
Students are provided subsistence and accommodation in the Student Dormitory in Slavonski Brod.

PROFESSIONAL GRADUATE STUDY PROGRAM IN MANAGEMENT
Upon completion of the professional study program in Management, students can continue their education at the professional graduate study program in Management. The study program is provided by the University of Applied Sciences in Slavonski Brod. Students are admitted in the professional graduate study program in Management if having completed professional study program or university undergraduate study program in Economics.
The study program lasts for four semesters (two years) and provides 120 ECTS. Upon completion of the study, students are awarded a qualification of
Professional Specialist in Economics.
Professional graduate study program in Management is in line with the Bologna Process principles and with strategic objectives of UASSB. It supports achievement of mission and vision of UASSB. UASSB aims to profile itself as an acknowledged regional institution of higher education that promotes cooperation with partners from various sectors. Partnerships in the sector of higher education facilitate different models of joint activities and innovative projects at local, national and international level, which contributes to improvements of existing processes, products and services offered by UASSB.
UASSB focuses on continuous adaptation of its study programs to the needs of the economy sector, to mobility of students and teachers and to education of graduates able to develop enterprises and regions within achievements of learning outcomes.
The goal of the study program is to provide today's labor market with professionals possessing necessary knowledge. UASSB intends to actively participate in shaping of forthcoming occurences at the labor market with knowledge and creativity of its specialists.
Upon completion of the professional graduate study program in Management, students are able to:
use specialized knowledge on management of individual business areas (marketing, production, sales and procurement, finances) to improve business processes,
use quantitative methods for business decisions and manage costs on the basis of analysis and decision methods
position a company in the global economy through knowledge on institutions, policies, strategies and available European Union funds
apply knowledge and skills in entrepreneurship to achieve new growth and development of enterprises
apply knowledge and skills in the field of strategic management and determine direction in which an enterprise shall develop
acquire managerial skills - skills for team work and communication, relations to customers and development of other personal competencies of managers in order to improve overall organizational performance through human resource management
create a system of values in an enterprise based on business ethics and social responsibility
apply IT technology for improvement of business
Upon completion of the professional graduate study program in Management at the University of Applied Sciences in Slavonski Brod, students have a possibility to continue with studying within postgraduate studies in Economics in the Republic of Croatia, thus being provided for vertical advancement at the postgraduate professional study program in Organization and Management, Postgraduate professional study program in Entrepreneurship, and Postgraduate professional study program in Marketing of Special Areas, all offered by the Faculty of Economics in Osijek (enrollment conditions available at: www.efos.hr).
Students can choose to attend classes in one subject per semester (in 1st, 2nd, and 3rd semester) at another institution in Croatia, provided that the chosen subject is taught in the respective summer / winter semester and that it awards the same or more ECTS as the home subject.
The study program puts emphasis on production, logistics, entrepreneurship, global economy and the European Union, new business opportunities, new growth and starting of a business activity.
